Steel Ring Mesh (3.5 mm Wire Diameter)

This ring is a multi-wound energy-dissipating steel wire element designed for applications requiring increased stiffness and load-bearing capacity in rockfall barrier and high-energy impact control systems. Thanks to its increased wire diameter, it exhibits controlled deformation behavior at higher load levels and supports the energy management capacity of the system. The seven-wound circular form ensures that forces generated during impact are distributed evenly along the circumference of the ring. This structure limits sudden load increases, reducing the risk of local damage at connection points. Its galvanized or Galfan-coated surface provides long-term resistance against corrosion in outdoor conditions. In addition to the main dissipating components, the ring element functions as an auxiliary energy dissipation component that can be positioned in specific areas of the system for load sharing and deformation control.

INTENDED APPLICATION AREAS (BASED ON DESIGN PRINCIPLES)

• ENERGY DISSIPATION ZONES REQUIRING HIGH STRENGTH IN ROCKFALL BARRIER SYSTEMS

• LOAD-SHARING ELEMENT POSITIONED IN FRONT OF OR BEHIND THE PRIMARY DISSIPATION COMPONENTS

• CONNECTION POINTS IN BARRIER SYSTEMS WHERE INCREASED STIFFNESS IS REQUIRED

• SECONDARY DEFORMATION ELEMENT IN MULTI-STAGE ENERGY DISSIPATION SYSTEMS

• SPECIAL SYSTEM CONFIGURATIONS WHERE LOAD TRANSFER MUST BE CONTROLLED

FUNCTION WITHIN THE SYSTEM

• TO ABSORB HIGH-LEVEL IMPACT ENERGY THROUGH CONTROLLED DEFORMATION

• TO BALANCE LOAD DISTRIBUTION BETWEEN BARRIER COMPONENTS

• TO REDUCE SUDDEN STRESS PEAKS

• TO SUPPORT THE OVERALL ENERGY DISSIPATION PERFORMANCE OF THE SYSTEM
