Steel Ring Mesh (3 mm Wire Diameter)

This ring is a compact-type, multi-wound energy dissipating element developed for rockfall barrier and similar high-energy impact systems where limited deformation distance is required. Thanks to its reduced inner and outer diameter geometry, it offers the advantage of operation in confined spaces, while its multi-winding structure enables controlled dissipation of impact energy through plastic deformation. Its structural form allows deformation to be distributed homogeneously along the circumference of the ring under load. In this way, sudden load peaks are limited, local stresses on connection components are reduced, and overall system integrity is preserved. The galvanized or Galfan-coated steel wire surface provides long-term resistance against environmental conditions and corrosion. This type of ring is not used as a primary load-bearing element; rather, it is suitable for use in specific areas within the system where energy management, load redirection, and deformation control are required.

FUNCTION WITHIN THE SYSTEM • To absorb sudden loads generated during rockfall impact in a controlled manner • To reduce local failures and excessive stresses that may occur in the barrier mesh • To distribute the load evenly among barrier components • To increase the overall energy dissipation capacity of the system
